Prospect Profile: Jaden Lindo
Jaden Lindo: Forward / Owen Sound Attack / 6’0″ 185 / 1-11-96
OHL Draft Ranking: 43rd Overall
Selected: 2nd Round, 26th Overall
2012 Club Team: Toronto Marlboros (GTHL)
Lindo was one of the strongest players in minor midget last year. He is at his best playing along the boards, winning battles and creating offense off of the cycle. He does a lot of the dirty work for his teammates, and allows his line mates to play ‘bigger’ with him on the ice. He consistantly outworked and outmuscled opposition defenders. He was one of, if not the hardest players to contain down low. He shows a high complete level, and always is working. He makes smart decisions with the puck, shows good passes, but his niche is one of a banger, not one of a puck mover. He was one of the best forcheckers in the GTHL last year, a skill that should be easily translated next year in the OHL. He will bring a good work ethic and play a physical game for you. He is a bit of a choppy skater, but gets to where he needs to go. His mobility has improved as the season has moved forward, but still has room to grow. I do have some concerns about his long-term offensive upside. He seems to be better without the puck, causing issues on the forecheck, and I haven’t seen him make skilled plays at a higher speed. He projects out as a top 6 forward, and should be a depth player for the Attack next year. His offensive growth will be a key for him moving forward.
